The Skills Training in Affective & Interpersonal Regulation (STAIR) Program
Mates4Mates is excited to introduce an innovative peer led skills program for Mates in 2018. The STAIR program is aimed at assisting Mates to develop skills in emotion regulation and interpersonal functioning for recovery, to improve day to day living. The program will be facilitated by the Psychological Services Team for 12 weeks (90 minute sessions, once a week) covering a range of topics including emotional awareness, distress tolerance, changing relationship patterns, and compassion for self and others. Following engagement in the initial program, suitable Mates can engage in further peer support skills and training to work toward facilitating peer led groups. The program is an exciting opportunity to develop new skills around managing psychological impacts and may lead to support skills to help other Mates.
After the success of the program in Tasmania in 2017 and a second group program currently underway, we are now able to offer the program to all our Family Recovery Centres in 2018.
Please stay tuned for program dates and application details for your location. If you have any questions regarding the details of the program, please contact your local Family Recovery Centre Psychological Services team.
