Mates4Mates Clinical Tai Chi Program

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then the Clinical Tai Chi Program might be for you!
What is the Clinical Tai Chi Program?
The Clinical Tai Chi Program aims to help veterans and family members improve their physical and mental health through evidence-based, mindful exercises.
Over five weeks, our Exercise Physiologists will teach participants tai chi exercises with the aim to improve symptoms of chronic pain, increase strength, flexibility and balance, and reduce the risk of falls, as well as reduce symptoms of stress.
Please note:
- A referral from DVA or Medicare may be required to participate in this program.
- Participating in this program means that you are expected to attend all sessions.
- There is a minimum number of participants required for facilitation of this program. The program may be cancelled if the minimum number is not met.

Townsville
Our next program will run in person at the RSL Queensland Veteran & Family Wellbeing Centre in Townsville every Thursday, starting 23 July to 20 August 2026, 8:30am to 9:30am.
Veterans who are interested in participating in the Clinical Tai Chi Program will need to undertake an expression of interest (EOI) process. This EOI includes a clinical screening to ensure this program is suitable for you.
Expressions of interest for this program will open on Monday 1 June 2026.
