Community Connections Program

Are you looking to find a sense of belonging and a support network within your community?

Then the Community Connections Program may be for you.

What is the Community Connections Program?

The Mates4Mates Community Connections Program aims to support veterans impacted by service to connect with their local communities through shared interests and activities, helping them to find their place in the civilian world.

By building a sense of community and increasing social connections, this program will provide participants with various physical, mental and social health benefits, including reducing the feeling of isolation, increasing wellbeing and coping skills, and decreasing levels of pain.

Mates4Mates will be facilitating various programs across Brisbane, Ipswich, Townsville, Cairns, Hobart, Launceston and Darwin as part of the Community Connections Program. These programs will run at different times across the end of 2023 and early 2024.

Programs will be run across 6-8-week blocks with an expression of interest (EOI) required to be completed to ensure the program is suitable for you.

Places in the program are available to veterans registered with Mates4Mates. If you are not an inducted Mates4Mates member and would like to take part, simply complete the Mates4Mates new client form online and our team will be in touch soon.

This program is funded by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) as part of the Veteran and Wellbeing Grant Program. As part of this program’s requirements, participants will be requested to complete evaluation surveys throughout the program, inclusive of a 3-month follow-up survey.
